June is PTSD Awareness Month
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, is something that can happen after a person goes through a very scary, dangerous, or upsetting event. May is Mental Health Month, and May 5th is called Silence the Shame Day. Learn about the stigmas around mental health and how you can take charge in rewriting the script, and making mental health something to take pride in rather than feel shame in addressing.
C.R.A.F.T. Skokomish Behavioral Health Department’s New Wellness Group
The Skokomish Wellness Center is offering a new group called CRAFT. CRAFT stands for Community Reinforcement and Family Training. It helps families and loved one’s support someone who is struggling with drugs or alcohol, while also taking care of themselves.
Urge Surfing
Urge surfing is a technique that can be used to avoid acting on any behavior that you want to reduce or stop. Some examples of behaviors may be: smoking, over-eating, substance use, spending, lashing out at someone, etc.
